It turns out that Peter and Nathan both knew Linderman well before his revelation part way through the first season (which actually makes sense considering how close their parents were, but wouldn't it make more sense that they would also have known Hiro an Matt Parkman's parent's too?). And Nathan's investigation into Linderman's business activities prompt his father to order a hit on his own son.
Which brings about another question. Why didn't Andrea Petrelli see her husband trying to kill Nathan in the future? She certainly seems to see everything else. She had to ask Arthur, which allowed him to slip out of an answer and then eventually plant a suggestion in her mind and cause her to forget she every even suspected it.
Which leads me to my final point, and the GIANT PLOT HOLE IN HEROES:
Why does Arthur Petrelli need to bump Nathan off when he can just alter his mind? Why not just tell him that he's going to stop prosecuting Linderman? Easy peasy - no dead kid, no paraplegic daughter-in-law, no wife that hates you...and, oh wait...no crappy Heroes story line.
C'mon Heroes writers! Pull it together people! I expect better from you. This show has the potential to be awesome and you're making it suck. The further the walk down this path, and the more you add shitty back stories, the worse it's going to be.

Folks, I give you that which has inspired a fresh round of quotes inspiring inappropriate, near-constant, inside-joke giggling:
Has there been a murdah?

If you aren't familiar with either, let me introduce you to both:
First, Ninja Warrior. G4 happened to be on one day at The Red Hot while Frinklin, Cassioposa, Kevin, and I were eating dinner. While the original Japanese show features men, Women of Ninja Warrior is far more entertaining for my money. The women's courses tend to focus more on agility and less on strength.
And, who doesn't need Mop Shoe?

The Tudors Season 2 will premier on Sunday, March 30th! Ann Boleyn is crowned Queen this season and the forces around King Henry VIII continue to exert their power at Court. You can check out a preview of the upcoming season here.
You can read more about this gorgeously acted and incredibly sexy (as well as just the right amount of trashy) show on my original post here.
The best part is that if you have Comcast On Demand you can watch the episodes a week in advance! How cool is that?!

We had a great time, talking blogs and Tacoma, somehow meandering to stories of mooning people (you can see the natural progression there, right?). After listening to some hilarious parenting stories I've decided to delay having children for several more years. I like to sleep.
Thanks for coming over guys! I'll see you next week - same time, same place!

Last Thursday evening, myself, Frinklin, Jen,and Kevin traveled to the KOMO televison studios to attend a blogger meetup for the Seattle area. After scaring the bejesus out of everyone in the car a couple of times and taking a few wrong turns we managed to arrive safe and sound.
There were a good 75 bloggers present and the mingling was excellent. I met several new folks who I may never have run across in the blogosphere otherwise, and I hope to share a cup of coffee with in real life in the future. We also ran into Derek, and had a lovely time chatting it up Tacoma-style.
I know you're going to be jealous of this - but we go to take our picture in the Northwest Afternoon studio, and then we go to play a bit at the KOMO Anchor Desk and the green screen for weather. Somewhere there are shots of Jen and I doing the green screen weather thing. I even made it into the shot on the Seattle PI Big Blog (along with 20 other people, but still!). Since I'm anonymous, you'll just have to take my word for it. Although if you look at all of Kevin's pix, you'll eventually work it out. Although you'd have to be a really obsessed fan (or really pissed off supervisor of mine) to care that much.
After the meetup, the Tacoma bloggers sans Derek had a yummy dinner at the Cheesecake Factory downtown. We had a great time getting to know one another and I'm looking forward to spending time with them again!

KOMO-TV and its owner, Fisher Communications, has graciously agreed to serve as host for a blogger meet-up at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday August 2nd. The event will be at Fisher Plaza, 140 Fourth Avenue North in downtown Seattle. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments (alcoholic and otherwise) will be served and everyone who attends is promised a cool piece (or pieces) of KOMO swag. That's right; we're digging deep for this.
This is a social event, so come prepared to meet and make new friends. If you know of a local blogger who's not on the list here, please let me know or feel free to invite them, too. We'd like to meet everybody.
If you don't already know me, I'm Chris Pirillo - coffee addict, Seattlite, and a regular ol' blogger who also has a YouTube channel. If you have any questions about this event, feel free to contact Leanne Dillon from KOMO-TV at (206) 404-6055.
KOMO-TV is interested in getting to know bloggers in the area, and what better way to do that than with a little party? Again, this is a social event; there's no agenda for the station other than helping facilitate this meet-up. Fisher Communications recognizes the significance of the personal media revolution, and they want to listen and pay attention to what you're saying. I think this is a good way to start.
KOMO-TV news anchors will be there, so don't forget to bring your camera! You'll also be able to take pictures of yourself (and your co-anchors) at the anchor desk.
Please use the RSVP function of this Evite to let us know if you're coming. We want to make sure we have enough food for everybody.
We should all use "komomeetup" as the tag for photos, videos, blog posts, etc.
Anyone planning on attending?

There's also Deadliest Catch, which I accidentally watched while in San Diego for my sister's wedding, and then immediately went on a watching spree when I came home. Holy crap is crab fishing insane! I even got Frinklin into DC, which is narrated by...
Mike Rowe. Dirty Jobs is on almost as much as MythBusters, and I'm all the happier for it. I will often TiVo it so that I can indulge myself in the evening when I have time to watch several episodes at once.
There's no two ways to put this - Mike Rowe is hot. Aside from the fact that he's a damn handsome man, the ability to remain funny and charming while standing in or shoveling large amounts of poo is a rare quality. And he's a Renaissance man - used to be an opera singer, is currently writing a novel, and plans to return to the stage once Dirty Jobs ends (we'll just forget about the QVC stuff, OK? Although he still had a funny/charming/self deprecating thing going on even then).
When discussing Mike, I always refer to him as, "my other boyfriend."* (My original boyfriend being Zach Braff, although I've heard he's a douche bag, so I'm considering dumping him and going with Mike full-time).**

*I realize referring to someone as "my boyfriend" when I'm already married makes me sound like my grandmother, who used to refer to various celebrities as "my boyfriend" even though they were 40 (or more!) years younger.
**Hi Honey! I love you!

Frinklin and I went to the first showing of Transformers today in Tacoma and GOOD HOLY GOD did the movie ROCK!
If you, like me, were a fan of the television show growing up - go!
If you like to see kick ass special effects - go!
If you like to see lots of shit get blown up in a big, big way - go immediately!
I'm not usually a Michael Bay fan, but this movie met every expectation I had in a big way. The nostalgia factor is huge with this movie, and judging from the reaction of the crowd, everyone was happy. There was a lot of clapping and shouting, especially when Optimus Prime made his first appearance. On more than one occasion several people stood up to clap. Shia LaBeouf was great - after seeing him in this action role, I'm definitely looking forward to the fourth Indiana Jones film.

"That's right baby.
Girl, tonight we're gonna make love. You know how I know, baby? 'Cause it's Wednesday. And Wednesday night is the night that we make love. Tuesday night's the night that we go and visit your mother, but Wednesday night is the night that we make love. 'Cause everything is just right - conditions are perfect. There's nothing good on TV."

Because there is the wonderfulness that is the DVR in my home, we tend to record and watch in blocks, sans commercials. I tried to watch Heroes live once and nearly went insane not being able to fast forward through the commercials every 8 minutes. I know it's a popular show. I know they probably have more advertisers than they know what to do with - but seriously? It's fucking up the show something awful to have six or seven commercial breaks instead of the usual four. I refuse to watch the show live for that reason, so the commercials are all lost on me, anyway.
Incidentally, my sister nearly had a fit when I was in San Diego for her wedding and she couldn't talk about Heroes with me and Frinklin. I'll have to call her tomorrow so we can discuss.
So anyway...we're about to embark on the "final chapters" of Heroes tonight, but I cannot get the Mohinder/Sylar needle in the neck scene out of my head. I had nightmares about it last night. And even though it's not the same, all I can think is - just like an epidural. Can't wait 'till I have kids!

I happened across episode 7 of The Tudors on Saturday afternoon and found it amusing. Frinklin offered to sit down and watch the first episode (thanks to Comcast's On Demand feature) with me, and holy crap - we were hooked! We watched half the available episodes and didn't get to bed until almost 3 AM. Sunday afternoon saw us finishing off the nine On Demand shows and frantically searching for the 10th episode season finale (episode 8 just aired, and the 10th isn't yet scheduled).
It's not that the show is so overwhelmingly good, like some cable series; it's that the show is so awesomely trashy and sexy, it makes for excellent fun to watch. Take one-part history and one-part soap opera, throw in a dash of spicy sex and blend.
Jonathan Rhys-Meyers is fantastic as a young, fiery King Henry VIII, demanding respect and obedience while bedding numerous women. Sam Neill is the slimy Cardinal Wolsey with his own ambitions. Jeremy Northam's Sir Thomas Moore as the picture of sanity and reasoning until the Lutherans start to piss him off (he's about to unleash some whup-ass in the form of burning people at the stake in the 10th episode). And I have to mention Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk, played by super-molten-hot Henry Cavill, who rivals Henry for the number of women slept with.
There are also the excellent women in the cast; Natalie Dormer as (so far) terrible tease Anne Boleyn, Maria Doyle Kennedy as the sad and pious Queen Katherine, and Gabrielle Anwar as Princess Margaret (as a composite of Henry's two older sisters). There's a lot of heaving bosoms all around, and I like my bosoms to heave.
While The Tudors won't win any award for historical accuracy, it does provide an interesting look at young King Henry VIII's court. With several of the main characters already dead from various diseases and one beheading, I'm interested to see how long the story telling can be sustained without completely abandoning the historical time-line. The show has already been renewed, with the second season taking on Henry's marriage to Anne Boleyn.
